System requirements
macOS 26 or newer on Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Around 3 GB of disk space for the on-device speech models.
Common questions
- The hotkey does nothing
- macOS needs two permissions. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and enable WalkAITalkie under Microphone and under Accessibility, then restart the app.
- Where does my text go?
- Into whichever text field has the cursor. In the Mac App Store version the text is copied to your clipboard instead — press ⌘V to paste it.
- Transcription is slow the first time
- The speech and language models are compiled once on first use. Later runs start in a few seconds.
- I bought Pro directly and have no licence key
- Check your spam folder, then request the key again on the activation page.
- How do I get updates?
- The version downloaded from walkaitalkie.com updates itself. App Store copies update through the App Store.
