Meeting notes on your Mac, without a bot
Session Notes turn a conversation in the room into a transcript and structured notes: a short recap, the discussion points and the tasks. WalkAITalkie records through your Mac's microphone. No bot joins, and nobody gets an invite. Session Notes are part of Pro.
Dictation and Clean Up are free. No account.
Requires macOS 26+ and Apple Silicon (M1 or later)

Nothing joins your meeting
There is no bot, no meeting link and no calendar access. You start a session in the menu bar, and your Mac listens through its microphone. That also means everyone has to be in the room. The app does not record system audio, so remote participants in Zoom or Teams are not captured. Tell everyone that you are recording. The app reminds you.
Start, stop, read
Start a session from the menu bar and stop it when the meeting is over. Transcription runs on your Mac. After 90 minutes you get a notice, and after two hours the session stops on its own and is written up like any other. The audio is only a temporary file: it is deleted once transcription is done.
What the notes contain
You get the full transcript plus three parts: a short recap of what was decided, the main discussion points, and the tasks. When a talk or a lecture explained terms, a fourth part lists them. The notes come in the language that was spoken, unless you pick another one. A model can drop or reshape a detail, so check decisions and tasks before you pass the notes on.
Who said what, and who does what
With the speaker model downloaded, WalkAITalkie tells up to 8 speakers apart, on your Mac. Each speaker gets a card with passages from the transcript, so you can give them a name. A task gets an owner when a name was said, and it keeps the deadline that was mentioned. Check who does what before you send the notes on; the app reminds you of that too.
What runs where
Recording, transcription and speaker detection run on your Mac. The notes are written on your Mac too; a long session takes a few minutes. In the direct download, Pro users who are signed in to the Codex CLI or the Claude Code CLI can hand it the finished transcript instead. Then the notes come back in seconds. Text only, never audio, on your own plan. It is off until you switch it on, and the Mac App Store version does not have it.

Questions about meeting notes
- Can it take notes in Zoom or Teams calls?
- No. WalkAITalkie records your microphone, not system audio. Remote participants in Zoom or Teams are not captured, and no bot joins the call. Session Notes are made for conversations in the room: a meeting, a talk, a lecture or an interview.
- Are Session Notes free?
- No. Session Notes are part of Pro, a one-time purchase. Without Pro, no session starts; the app shows you what Pro includes instead. Dictation, Raw, Clean Up and the history stay free.
- Does it know who is speaking?
- With the speaker model downloaded, it tells up to 8 speakers apart on your Mac and numbers them. You can give every speaker a name. If it finds fewer than two speakers, or your Mac is low on memory, the notes come without speaker labels.
- Does it assign tasks to people?
- When a name is said with a task, the task carries that name, and a deadline that was said stays in the task. The model is told never to invent a name. It can still get an owner wrong, so check who does what before you share the notes.
- How do I get the notes out?
- Copy them, copy them as Markdown, save them as a .md file, or start an e-mail with them. In Markdown the tasks become checkboxes. If you want, the app saves every finished session as a .md file in a folder you choose. Transcripts and notes are stored on your Mac.
